The Kamenjak Peninsula or Cape Kamenjak – Istria – Croatia – Nature Park also known as the Peninsula of Premantura is situated on the southern tip of Istria – close to city of Pula.
This amazing park of nature is a protruding piece of land delving deep into the sea. Six kilometers long with the average width of about a kilometer.
Kamenjak rugged coastline, about 30 kilometers long consist of numerous bays and various beaches forming an area of exceptional natural beauty. Also nearby is the picturesque village of Premantura
The coast of the Cape Kamenjak – Istria – Croatia, offer many places to swim, high water jump, coves and caves to explore. Some places are available only from the sea.
The relatively small nature reserve is home to many plant species. The reason for the large plant diversity is that there are no buildings on the peninsula. The flora and fauna can be grow freely.
When entering Cape Kamenjak, a fee is payable for a motor vehicle. The price is by type of vehicle in use, starting at €=5,31 for a car. Pedestrians and cyclists do not pay this fee.
The Kamenjak Peninsula is a place with many sunny days throughout the year. Total annual precipitation is significantly lower (210 mm) than that of the neighboring Pula or Medulin (872 mm). Such characteristics contribute to the typically Mediterranean climate. It is precisely thanks to this favorable climate that the area is useful throughout the year for outdoor, recreation or sports activities.
